NIMH Training Program in Cognitive Neurosciences
At the Institute for Neural Computation we celebrate our diverse community. Cultural diversity enriches our research programs. We welcome qualified applicants from all backgrounds to apply to this training program.
Goal of the program
* We are not offering the NIMH Training Program this year - 2021-2022.
Below, please find information about our previous year.
The goal of this training program is to provide advanced graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with interdisciplinary training in cognitive neuroscience and to create a new generation of scientists devoted to the study of normal and abnormal brain function. Training will emphasize advanced methods for analyzing the neural bases of cognitive processes including perception, selection attention, learning, memory, and cognitive control, which are essential for adaptive everyday functioning. The program also includes training in translational research on impaired cognitive functions that will lead to improvements in diagnosing and treating mental disorders. This program is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.
Research Areas: Six major research topics constitute the core areas of expertise in our training program:
- Sensory Processing and Perception
- Selective Attention
- Learning and Memory
- Cognitive Control
- Translational Research
- Research Methodologies
