Annual / Recurring INC Events
INC Chalk Talk Series
The INC chalk talk series meets bi-weekly as a forum for interactive exchange on all aspects of neural computation. The purpose of these meetings is to foster the collaborative interactions between INC members and with colleagues across campus, and to stimulate new ideas and research initiatives.
Each meeting features one of the core or affiliated INC faculty labs/groups, with informal presentation of late-breaking research and new research directions. The meetings are open to the community, and we encourage broad participation across campus. Contact us for further information, or to schedule a presentation.
When: Thursdays bi-weekly Fall through Spring; Where: Hybrid: On Zoom and at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, East Expansion; South Wing, Level B1, E129E Central Lobby
Quarterly Faculty/Executive Committee Meetings
Meetings will be held on Thursdays from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on dates TBA
Collaboratory Science in Society Events
The COLLABORATORY is a Center within the Institute for Neural Computation (INC) at UC San Diego. It's mission is to bridge the chasm between the creators and the consumers of science and technology. Past events in this series covered the topics of Conscience, Loneliness, and Fragility. For more information, click here or email collaboratory@inc.ucsd.edu.
Workshop on Brain, Mind, and Body - Cognitive Neuroengineering for Health and Wellness
This biannual workshop highlights advances in cognitive neuroengineering for health and wellness, with invited talks by leading researchers, contributed interactive poster presentations and live demonstrations of unobtrusive neurotechnology and medicine, and a panel with industry, clinical practitioners, and policy makers on transitioning technology advances to global health outcomes. Annual Joint Symposium on Neural Computation
In 1994, INC held the first Joint Symposium on Neural Computation with the California Institute of Technology. This Symposium brought together students and faculty for a day of short presentations. Since then, this Symposium has rotated between San Diego, Caltech, UCI, UCLA and USC. The Symposium now provides members with the latest research efforts over the past year. This all day event held in May is open to the INC members and the Industrial Affiliate Program members. Click here to learn more.
H. Paul Rockwood Memorial Lectureship
INC sponsors the H. Paul Rockwood Memorial Lectureship held annually. The Rockwood Memorial Lectureship Fund was gifted to the Institute by Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Rockwood in memory of their late son's interest, studies, and work in the neural computation field. EEGLAB Workshop
This annual EEGLAB workshop introduces and demonstrates the use of EEGLAB and EEGLAB plug-in tools for performing analysis of EEG and related data, and includes overview talks on principles of EEG data analysis, detailed method expositions, and practical exercises. The workshops are held throughout the world and each workshop accepts forty to one hundred and fifty attendees. Click here to read an article about the EEGLAB Workshops.
