FAX

You've been told to FAX something to someone! Where in the world are you going to find a FAX machine these days? No worries! Our multifunction copier can actually send FAXes.

Press Services Home.

Press FAX on the touch screen.

Insert documents face-up into the sheet feeder or a single page face down on the glass.

Select 1- or 2-sided, depending on your pages.
Select the type of document:

  • Text – Use for originals containing text or line art.
  • Photo and Text – Use for high quality lithographic images or continuous tone photos with text.
  • Photo – Use for continuous tone photographs.

Select the resolution (the higher the resolution, the longer it will take to transmit, but the easier it will be to read):

  • Standard 200 x 100 dpi - Recommended for text documents. It requires less communication time, but does not produce the best image quality for graphics and photos.
  • Fine 200 x 200 dpi - Recommended for line art and photos. This is the default resolution and the best choice in most cases.
  • SuperFine 600 x 600 dpi - Recommended for use with high quality photos and graphics. It produces the largest image file size, but delivers the best image quality.

Finally, type the phone number on the keypad.

  • UCSD extension – type in the five digits
  • Local call – type 8, Pause button, followed by the local phone number
  • Long distance – type *6*---#8, Pause button, area code, phone number. Replace “---“ with your personal long distance code.

Press the Start button.
